Beacon Law Centre 25th Anniversary Story Contest – Official Rules

  1. Contest Period:
    The contest begins on March 31, 2025 and ends on May 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
  2. Eligibility:
    Open to legal residents of British Columbia who are 19 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Beacon Law Centre and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  3. How to Enter:
    Submit your favourite story or memory involving Beacon Law Centre by email ([email protected]) or by mail to any Beacon Law location. Limit one entry per person. Your entry must be original and not infringe on any third-party rights.
  4. Entry Requirements:
  • Submissions must be respectful, appropriate, and relevant to the theme.
  • Beacon Law Centre reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate or non-compliant.
  • By submitting, you grant Beacon Law Centre a non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, and share your story (with attribution) in promotional materials, online and offline.
  1. Prizes:
    Up to twenty-five (25) winners will be selected to receive a prize. Prizes may include gift cards, merchandise, or other items of approximate retail value up to $200. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  2. Winner Selection and Notification:
    Winners will be selected based on creativity, emotional impact, and relevance to the theme, as judged by a panel appointed by Beacon Law Centre. Winners will be notified via email, phone or social media by May 31, 2025. If a winner does not respond within 5 days, an alternate winner may be selected.
  3. Skill-Testing Question:
    To be declared a winner, selected entrants must correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
  4. General Conditions:
  • No purchase necessary.
  • This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform.
  • Beacon Law Centre reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest at any time for any reason.
  • Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.

    Any personal information collected will be used solely for the purposes of contest administration and in accordance with Beacon Law Centre’s privacy policy.
